During the meeting you will hand in any final documents, receive 2 coaches’ passes for the weekend and ask any questions about the rules or seeding procedure. Do not expect any leniency if you or a representative are not present for this meeting.
Seeding in each Division will be determined by the following tie breaker criteria:
2. Head to Head
3. Runs Allowed
4. Runs Scored
5. Coin Flip
Birth Certificates of players were not required with registration, please have them available during the weekend if a dispute is brought up. Any player determined to be too old for the respective division you are playing will result in dismissing the player or the team forfeiting the tournament.

There is an update to the pitching rules for teams playing on Sunday. All bats for this tournament must be stamped with the USA Approved sticker. If a baseball gets caught in the net behind home plate, this will be a dead ball and base runners are allowed to advance one base, umpires discretion is applied.
A ceremony for the teams participating in Sunday’s games will be held at 8AM Sunday Morning on Cadwell Baseball Field to the north of the fields we are playing on. All teams are welcome to this event the teams playing on Sunday are highly encouraged to participate.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 4 teams in the 9U, 10U American, 11U, and 12U American Division and all players will receive medals. Trophies for the top two teams in the 10U National and 12U National Division will be awarded, with top 3 team’s players receiving medals.
South Dakota A Baseball State Tournament T-Shirts are available for purchase at the gate during the tournament. If the supply runs out, there may be an extra charge for ordering after the fact.
South Dakota A Baseball tournaments will be played in adverse weather conditions. The format may be changed to lesser time limits, fewer innings or seed advancement to complete the tournament. Coaches and players accept these conditions when entering the tournament. Tournament Philosophy: Score early, Win early, Stay Winning. If weather hits then we might revert back to first Pool Play game or ½ of official game time for playoff seeding. Awards are based off pool play seeding only where games are played without an elimination finish. Play to win every game.
Absolutely no music devices or alcohol is allowed within the complex. All players/coaches must stay in the dugout with exception of the on deck batter.
The Mitchell Baseball Association promotes good sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, game officials, and the game of baseball itself. We expect you, your fellow coaches, team, and fans to conduct themselves in a similar manner.
Concessions will be provided at each complex to include burgers.
We look forward to hosting the South Dakota A Baseball State Tournament, feel free to call with any questions or concerns.

To clarify the American and National Leagues for the 10U and 12U Divisions, each team will play their 2 pool play games in their respective division. Seed Criteria noted below will be used to seed each of the teams based on their pool play games.
In the 10U Division, the top 10 teams will go to the American League, the remaining 8 will be National League.
In the 12U Division, the top 12 teams will go to the American League, the remaining 8 teams will be National League.
Hope this clarifies the process.
